True Wealth.
True wealth cannot be measured by salary or title. Wealth rooted in faith, family, and purpose endures. Leadership aligned with purpose brings meaning. These are all very sound concepts and principles to recognize. What is true wealth? We see more millionaires, billionaires, and even trillionaires than ever before. It is estimated in the next five years we will have more trillionaires than ever based on the introduction of “AI” and other modern technology advances.
And yet, still we see higher rates of suicide, divorce, bankruptcy, fallen families, and other issues that plague our world than ever before. So, if money fixed everything, why aren’t the wealthy all fixed? Well, it’s because true wealth isn’t in money. True wealth is a happy heart, being content with what we have, not comparing ourselves to others, and being mentally, physically, and spiritually healthy!
In Steve Jobs final days of living, he was interviewed and asked the question about wealth and the true meaning of life. The words of one of the richest men in the world at the time ring very loudly for us to hear and reflect upon. Read them slowly and process his answer: “In the end, wealth is only a fact of life that I am accustomed to. At this moment, what matters most is love for your family, love for your spouse, love for your friends…. Treat yourself well and cherish others.” Steve Jobs had a net worth of about $10.2 billion dollars at the time of his death. He didn’t take it with him. Wealth is in relationships, in health, and in living life well. So live well and let that be the source of your true wealth.
